John Bello brought his craft to central London during the 1960’s from Spain and worked for major Savile Row Tailors. In the 1970's he moved to Normal Hartnell and Burberry's..
The draw of the Kent coast and the quest to establish his own business saw the foundation of John Bello “The Tailor” in Cliftonville Margate in 1979.
From the start the bespoke service will differ, you be treated not as a customer but as a client, John will personally guide you through the process.
After your order, John can design a style that is right for you - or you may like to provide magazine cuttings or browse sample display suits to arrive at the style and details you prefer. More than 20 individual measurements will be taken from you and the trained and experienced eye will combine these with observations on your posture and gait.
Subsequent weeks will see the cloth cut by hand and the specifics of your suit carefully assembled so as to be as distinctive as the character of the person who commissioned it.
One or more fittings may be required as the tailoring progresses. The result will be a unique garment, made exactly to your requirements, elegant and individual.
Your measurements and preferences are kept on file so you can place a new order at any time.
